Anyone a fan of Explosions In The Sky?
I recently found out about them - and their great background music to have on while working!

Anyone here listen to some Disturbed? One of my favorite bands, for sure.

Anyone here listen to some Disturbed? One of my favorite bands, for sure. I really enjoyed the first three albums. But I wasn't as impressed with Asylum. Great band to see live as well!

Has anyone here ever listened to Dead Can Dance? They do some pretty heavy stuff, I doubt many of you would be into it. Look for them sometime on Youtube and see what you think.

I'm going to blame scarface for this one! He once posted a song on my old site called Age of Shadows / We Are Forever by a guy called Arjen Anthony Lucassen (under the project name Ayreon) and I absolutely loved it. I started listening to all his stuff and the more I listened the more the music consumed me. Listening to Arjen's music led me to another guy who wrote similarly epic albums - Tobias Sammet (under the project name Avantasia). This is one of my favourite songs of his - the harmonies are just sublime. The original album version featured Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation. This version is from Wacken (2011) with Amanda Somerville taking Sharon's part. I just gotta see this live before I die!

Some of the songs I've been listening to today... Sirenia - The Other SideUnsun - WhispersKamelot - The HauntingEpica - Never EnoughXandria - RavenheartWithin Temptation - Stand My GroundLacuna Coil - SpellboundAfter Forever - Energise MeAyreon - Love (Day 11)Stream of Passion - Out in the Real WorldDelain - April RainAnd last but by no means least... Nightwish - Ghost Love ScoreI've been lucky enough to see 6 of these bands (Nightwish, Within Temptation, Delain, Stream of Passion, Epica and Lacuna Coil) plus the lead singers (as they were) of Xandria (singing a couple of songs with a band called Serenity) and After Forever (singing with Nightwish). That's a LOT of lovely, young ladies I've been able to drool over live.

Little Black Submarines by The Black Keys. People keep calling it the rip off or the part two or something of Stairway to Heaven, but other than having one slow and one loud part, I fail to see the connection. Although both songs are great.
