I'm sure we had this at IWD (called something slightly different). A ranting/moaning/b***ing thread!
And after last night's/this morning's shenanigans I think it's appropriate to resurrect it.
Over a dozen loud, obnoxious, drugged-up, pissed-out-of-their-skulls, immature 16/17 year olds (possibly a couple of 18 year olds in the mix) - all going on 10 years old - being loud, obnoxious, etc., etc., at my nephew's birthday party. Some of the little buggers are still here - being loud, obnoxious, etc., etc...
Some of the losers couldn't handle their drugs/drink/both and passed out on my nephew's bed (I think they've broken it from what I've heard). That's not the only thing they managed to break, though thank goodness they didn't break anything important. Last month they had an impromptu party some bastard managed to break the lid on our kettle (an expensive kettle, I should note). I've privately vowed to cut the nuts off whoever did it (if he was male - if she was female she'd be losing something else kinda useful)...
There's sick all over the place and you've never seen someone pee like I had to this morning because the toilet floor is just.... meh!
Despite my sister "keeping an eye" on things she's too immature herself and behaves just like one of them herself. I know I've never tried to grow up myself but even I know when to act grown up...
Anyway, despite her telling them the party would have to end around midnight the little bastards (and b*****s - I'm an equal-opportunity expletor!) were still being loud, obnoxious, etc., etc. well into the early hours. Between them being thus and my wife moaning my ears off about them being thus (as if I could do a bloody thing about!) I've had very little sleep.
I feel the need to kill someone.
/rant.
Btw... anyone recall what the original thread was called?

I can add to that.. it's now 3.30pm and my sister-in-law and the remainder of the nursery brigade still haven't cleaned up the sick and the mess ( I think the hangovers are still kicking in). I refuse to lift a finger and clean any of it.. it was their party so their mess. It was well after 3am when they removed themselves from outside our bedroom door and because of hangovers and those still high from the 'speed' I heard being talked about last night they were up shouting and messing about at 9am ish so little sleep even with earphones on. ok there is nothing wrong with a house party but this was just a farce. The problem is my nephew has 'issues' and never had any friends.. now he has started college his mum thinks that to make him 'popular' that she would let him have home parties with his college mates and because they can do whatever they want and up to whatever time they want..of course they want to come so they can drink underage in comfort and take drugs and God knows what else in the other rooms unsupervised. Martin's sister craves attention so if her son is popular then she thinks she is Well my nephew will be sleeping on the sofa from now on as his wooden bed has been trashed along with the rest of the house. I would say that this should be a lesson to my sister-in-law but I know it won't and it will happen again because like them she just won't grow up.

That would piss me off too.
I can start an old rant again and that is that my boss and the two under him are useless. My school is now so crap and I hold them fully responsible. I am fed up with little kids thinking they can be rude to me. Today I told a group of kids to shut up and one of the little sh*ts had the hide to tell me I was rude. I told them that you treat people the way you want them to treat you and since they were rude to me then I saw no need to be anything other than rude to them. A bit later I had to tell one kid that he wasn't quite as cool as he thought he was. They all drive me nuts, but the thing is that if my top three were doing their jobs properly then I wouldn't have to put up with such disrespect on a daily basis and neither would any other teacher there. I shouldn't complain because things are not as bad for me as they are for some, but if I wasn't an experienced teacher, or if I was weak or timid, my life there would be hell.

Stone the crows! I'm sure that was your exact same rant as in the IWD thread!

Anybody heard of the IT process called Agile? I could really rant about that! It's new to our company, and ... well, I'll go on forever ranting and explaining things and not making enough sense if nobody even knows what it is. So I won't start.
Yet, anyway.

The people I work with are a big portion of why I like this job. If people in my little group started leaving, I might, too.

Well, there is another drawback about people leaving my work - I end up with like 50+ hours per week to do. Good thing is that my company is now interviewing for more mechanical engineers. I just hope they choose a good engineer - didn't always happen in the past.

Sometimes I'd really like to hit our next door neighbour. I know it's not nice admitting to wanting to hit a woman but sometimes you just have to have exceptions to the rules. She's a nasty cow, and that's possibly the nicest thing I can say about her. She thinks she's Hyacinth Bucket but without even the tiniest bit of posh in her. She's one of those petty-minded little people who are always "muttering" (ie speaking loudly enough for all and sundry to hear) derogatory comments about other people.
A couple of years ago she reduced my wife to tears with her accusations and let me tell you it was all my wife could do to stop me flying round to her house and giving her a piece of my mind. I was SERIOUSLY angry at her treatment of my wife (I can have, unfortunately, a VERY bad temper when it flares) and I really would have scared the shit out of her. I can be a little overprotective of those I care about sometimes.
Part of me is saving up that little "chat" I think and I'll take great satisfaction if I reduce her to tears. The home truths I'll confront her with will be harsh but if you can't take it then you sure-as-hell shouldn't bloody-well give it. And she loves to give it...

I know that feeling! The manager was taken to hospital on Monday morning (she's okay now and resting at home) so this week went from a supposedly nice and easy one to suddenly all-hands-on-pumps. Well, mostly those hands were mine because that left me as sort of the "highest-ranking" full-timer in the office. There's a woman who's worked there longer than me but she only works part time and isn't rally the type to take charge. So I've been covering most of the manager's work as well as my own. I tell ya I'm soddin' knackered! It didn't help that I realised something on Thursday that would have made my life easier all week. By the time I'd thought of it, it was too late to make much difference. (need a bang-head smiley!) I only knew where my head was because of the warmth, the smell, and the broom handle banging against the side of it! Not sure if she's in next week either - she's been told to take all the time she needs to rest before coming back to work.

Last week I had to stay back three nights. Ollie had some early nights so I ended up not seeing him awake for almost three days. It's just not acceptable. New guy is supposed to start this Thursday, he better be up for a running start. He's not a senior engineer, he's relocating from another city to get this job, so sounds to me he's a bit desperate, which probably means they got him cheaply. That does not necessarily make him a bad engineer - I was in the same situation three years ago when I took this job, it's just been a tough market. But if it happens like it did a few times in the past when they hired some useless people and I had to do my work and then stay back to fix theirs, I'm not going to be happy about it. And I'm not going to keep quiet either.

So the "new" washer we bought broke after two washes. It was an Indesit bought from Currys. After contacting Currys they arranged for an Indesit engineer to come out and take a look.
Apparently a plastic part had broken off and punctured the drum, which caused havoc with the electrics. Unfortunately the engineer claimed it was "our" fault. Mine for when I removed the restraining bolts that hold the drum in place whilst in transport and my sister's because she obviously dropped or banged it in transit (despite the fact there was NO damage to the outside of the drum).
Because he put that on the report Currys have now decided (after days of trying to get them to sort it out) that they will neither replace it nor refund us. The WILL repair it - but that will take a couple of weeks. We're not interested in that anyhow. We want it replaced. The damage was done at THEIR end - and I can pretty much tell when it was done and how.
It was done when THEY replaced those bolts after testing it. The BENT bolts I may add. Out of the three bolts (which are big and sturdy and YOU try bending the buggers with a hand tool) only one is straight. Another is slightly bent, whilst the third - the one I would imagine is the culprit - is really bent. Bent enough that whoever put it in MUST have known it was bent. And because it was so bent it has obviously compromised the integrity of the plastic part it was screwed through.
So we've now been left with only one option (well two really but we'll try the first one first). Trading Standards will be involved. If that doesn't work we'll be taking them to the small claims court.
And one thing is for damn sure. We will NEVER be buying anything from Currys again. They can go screw themselves.
Bastards.
